Creating a supportive work environment

Healthy Workstyle

Work-Life Balance

We at CyberAgent believe that the physical and mental health of our employees directly contributes to growth of the company, and thus implement a variety of measures to promote health.

Promotional Structure

In June 2016, CyberAgent launched a Health Support Office and began a variety of measures aimed at promoting a healthy workstyle based on the company's policy to emphasize interactive dialog and respect the wishes of each employee. While promoting a healthy workstyle for each employee from multiple angles, the Human Resources and Compliance Office is engaged in ensuring compliance with HR-related laws and regulations, and utilizes career agents to support career planning and ensure the right person is assigned to the right job. We are committed to creating an environment that facilitates high performance while supporting both the physical and mental health of every employee.

Measures to Support Good Physical and Mental Health

  • Rimo-day(Remote Work Day)

    "Rimo-day"(Remote Work Day)

In June 2020, CyberAgent started "Remo Day" for all employees to work remotely on certain days of the week, adopting a hybrid work pattern that combines work from office and home. This is a measure to balance the benefits of working from home, such as replacing meetings that require travel, large group meetings with efficient video conferencing, or increasing opportunities for employees to refresh their minds and bodies, and the benefits of teamwork and vitality.

  • Stocktaking Meetings

    Stocktaking Meetings

These special meetings are used to visualize the work content of all target teams to determine work that should be abandoned, discontinued, or modified. At the same time, they offer an opportunity to identify organizational issues, aiming to reduce stress on individuals and teams and boost performance by finding points needing improvement.

  • Load-Balancing Meetings

    Load-Balancing Meetings

These meetings, intended for team leaders such as managers, are held with the Health Support Office to visually portray the working hours of team members. If the meeting finds that some members are overburdened with the workload, meeting members work to identify the cause (such as over-reliance on specific personnel) and consider ways to even out the workload. By better optimizing the work hours of all team members, this lays the groundwork for achieving higher goals.

  • Monitoring of Working Hours

    Monitoring of Working Hours

We monitor working hours each day by using the timestamp of the card-key used to enter/leave the office in the case of an office worker, or by the online sign-in record in the case of a teleworker. If the person tends to leave the office late or works unusually long hours, we contact the person and the person's manager/supervisor to go over the situation. If monthly overtime hours exceed a predetermined limit, a consultation with an Occupational Health Physician is set up to discuss their physical and mental situation and provide medical support as needed.

  • Mental Health

    Mental Health

Consultation with an Occupational Health Physician is arranged as necessary to ensure employees are able to maintain good health and work in a comfortable environment, thereby allowing them to fully utilize their skills at work.

For those interested, we also provide opportunities to consult once a month with a counselor who possesses clinical psychologist qualifications. Whether in employees' public or private life, counseling provides a jumping-off point for solving various communication issues. To protect the person's privacy, the company receives no feedback on the content of the consultation.
All new employees receive counseling from a counselor twice during their first year in the company. Specialists also conduct interviews on work, physical, and mental conditions, thereby providing opportunities to ensure that the right people are assigned to the right positions and that they are able to pursue more meaningful challenges.

  • GEPPO

    GEPPO

This simple questionnaire, conducted once a month to group employees, asks them to rate their current performance, team conditions, etc. using weather terms such as "sunny," "cloudy" and "rainy." A free comment space also allows users to discuss a variety of matters including career trajectory, struggles, comments on questions that vary each month, or miscellaneous concerns. Only executives and career agents (HR personnel) can view responses, who work to identify issues and individuals/departments under stress. Then, through communication with the poster and their supervisor, they work to solve issues and ensure that the right person is assigned to the right job.

  • Women's Health

    Women's Health

Our "macalon" system promotes the success of women working at CyberAgent. It includes a "TTC Concierge" that offers direct advice from experts on female general and reproductive health issues including pregnancy and infertility; and also paid leave and special "F-Leave" which is available to female employees. F-leave is a system that allows female employees to take leave, including paid leave, without specifying the reason for the leave. It is intended to encourage women to use take time off for TTC (trying-to-conceive) activities, or to take special leave for women experiencing a female-specific health issue. ("F" in F-Leave is for "Female")

  • Annual Medical Checkups

    Annual Medical Checkups

All Group employees undergo a medical checkup once a year to detect illness early and assess their overall health condition. Depending on the results, an Occupational Health Physician follows up to provide the necessary employee health care.

  • Vaccinations

    Vaccinations

Free vaccinations are administered in-house every year to prevent seasonal flu. In 2018, when there were signs of a rubella outbreak, the company covered the cost of rubella vaccinations for those wishing to be vaccinated. In 2013, the company also carried out a mass vaccination for the MR (measles and rubella mixed) vaccine.

  • Office Environment

To maintain good health among employees working from the office, alcohol disinfectant spray and general medicine are available at each floor/office, and restrooms have also been stocked with mouthwash.

  • Establishment of a Remote Work Environment

Establishment of a Remote Work Environment

We have established an environment where employees can continue to work from anywhere without stress and without compromising performance through several measures. These include managing security based on staff ID; providing a VPN connection that uses security-managed safe routing; implementing measures to prevent delay on the VPN connection when several people are connected at the same time; introducing a video conferencing system; and moving business folders to the cloud.
