"Bit Valley" Project

With the four companies of CyberAgent, DeNA, GMO Internet, and Mixi launched the "Bit Valley" project in July 2018, with the hope of accelerating innovation through IT from Shibuya to Japan. Since then, we have been working on developing IT talents and raising the skill level of people involved in IT manufacturing through conferences and other events, under the vision of "transcending corporate boundaries to boost the development of Japan's IT industry.

In 2021, the "norm" of our lives changed at an unprecedented speed due to the spread of COVID-19. Given the circumstances, we held an online conference, "BIT VALLEY 2021," to explore the possibilities of technology under the theme of "Changing Work Styles and Culture, Changing Technology."

The conclusion of the "Agreement on Programming Education Project”

This project is a joint effort between Tokyu Corporation and four Internet companies including CyberAgent, all located in Shibuya, and the Shibuya City Board of Education to enrich programming education in the city’s public elementary and junior high schools. An integrated public-private project, Kids VALLEY provides support for the development of programming curriculum for elementary and junior high students, classroom support and career education support for the development of IT professionals through visits to companies in the industry and other activities.

The goal of Kids VALLEY is to cultivate world-leading talent in the field of IT from Shibuya, where CyberAgent and CA Tech Kids are also based. The project also aims to contribute to the development of IT professionals in Japan by systemizing and raising the visibility of these educational initiatives to drive programming education nationwide.

In 2021, the “Kids VALLEY Future Learning Project presents Programming Summer Camp 2021" was held for elementary and junior high school students across the country. While the spread of COVID-19 has greatly impacted the opportunities for elementary and junior high school students to learn, it has created chances to not only inspire interest in the fields of programming and IT, but also deepen their understanding.
