The Internet is a market that changes dramatically, demanding the ability to respond to change. We believe a key to success in this business is to have people who can adapt to sudden change swiftly and with flexibility. This isn't an industry that requires major capital investment in factories or other facilities. Rather, the most important management resource is people, and we are actively engaged in the hiring, training, and motivation of our people.
Fostering the Next Generation of IT Talent
Established in May 2013, CA Tech Kids Inc. operates programming education geared towards elementary school children with the aim of fostering and producing the IT talent needed to boost Japan's international competitiveness and secure the mid-to-long term growth of domestic industries.
To give as many children as possible the opportunity to gain exposure to programming, CA Tech Kids offers classroom-based programming classes as well as online learning material to ensure equal opportunities to children regardless of where they live.
In 2018, CA Tech Kids organized an elementary school student programming contest that involved the entire IT industry in an effort aimed at fostering the skills of talented children who have advanced IT skills.
Even before programming classes become compulsory in elementary schools from 2020, the company has been ahead of the curve by collaborating with local governments and elementary schools to hold outreach programming classes as well as training for teachers. CA Tech Kids is also actively involved in the promotion and expansion of programming education in public education, including policy recommendations to the national government and central ministries
ABEMA Functions as New Information Infrastructure
In April 2016, we launched "ABEMA", a hybrid entertainment of TV and video. Here, users can watch the latest news and other information for free over their smartphones. "ABEMA" also serves as a new information platform in the era of the Internet. Through our services, smartphone users have real-time, 24-hour access to emergency information in the event of an earthquake or disaster.
Corporate Governance
CyberAgent has been reinventing its management structure by utilizing a unique system that is tailored to the company's growth phases and business strategy. To further strengthen corporate governance, in December 2020 CyberAgent transitioned to a new executive officer structure with a clear separation between supervision and execution, and to further enhance supervisory functions, the structure ensures that half of the board members are from outside the company.
