Since our founding in 1998, CyberAgent has been a growing Internet-based business, holding to a vision of “creating the 21st century's leading company.” Our goal is to contribute to the betterment of society through our businesses, our unique internal systems, and our management resources.
Investing in Our People
The Internet is a market that changes dramatically, demanding the ability to respond to change. We believe a key to success in this business is to have people who can adapt to sudden change swiftly and with flexibility. This isn't an industry that requires major capital investment in factories or other facilities. Rather, the most important management resource is people, and we are actively engaged in the hiring, training, and motivation of our people.
Training IT Professionals from an Early Age
In May 2013, we founded CA Tech Kids, Inc., a company that teaches elementary school children how to program computers.
CA Tech Kids provides educates young children in programming, aiming to train and produce IT engineers who will play an important role in building Japan's ability to compete in the world.
More recently, we began work with a non-profit organization to provide IT support activities in developing countries. One such project is a programming school for elementary school students in the Republic of Rwanda.
Internet TV: The New Information Infrastructure
In April 2016, we launched AbemaTV, an Internet TV station. Here, users can watch the latest news and other information for free over their smartphones. AbemaTV also serves as a new information platform in the era of the Internet. Through our services, smartphone users have real-time, 24-hour access to emergency information in the event of an earthquake or disaster.
In December 2014, we removed anti-takeover measures, and in December 2016, we adopted a structure including outside directors. The goal of these measures is to improve management soundness and transparency, strengthening corporate governance.
