Human Resource Development

Human Resource Development

Basic Policy on Human Resource Development

For internet companies that do not require large capital investments, human resources are its greatest management assets and plays an important role as a competitive advantage.
We value those who have initiative and make decisions because we believe that "decision-making" is a key factor which people can grow from.

At CyberAgent, we offer a workplace environment and support systems that helps each of our employees reach their full potential and take on challenges.

Human Resource Development System

Goal Setting

CyberAgent considers it important for human resource development, to align the vectors of organizational and individual goals, and to make these goals relevant to each employee. This creates a situation where each of our employees can make the necessary decisions to accomplish these goals.

For this purpose, we carry out "Project Reports" where all team members decide on the organizational goals every six months. The process of deliberating and agreeing on the organizational goals from a management perspective clarifies the roles and targets of each member and creates teams capable of working together to achieve goals. At the end of the half year, achievement and performance are appraised in an interview with your manager, and salary is reviewed according to the assessment.

The Right People in the Right Place

It is essential for internet companies that continuously undergo rapid changes to quickly and flexibly allocate the right people to their expanding businesses. Making bold selections and new missions also provides opportunities for people to maximize their abilities.

CyberAgent implements a variety of measures to ensure that the right people are in the right places at the right time. Some of the measures include: a monthly survey with three questions which ask our employees about their current conditions; a unique system that allows our employees who have been at their current department for at least one year to apply for a transfer to a department of their choice; and an internal version of a job search site.

Through these measures, we are working to solve issues such as eliminating possible mismatches in allocating human resources and improving workloads to enable career development that meets the preferences of each individual.

Skill Improvement

At CyberAgent, we strive to promote growth among our employees by conducting training programs to acquire specialized skills required for each business and occupation. For example, training programs to become trainers, programs for newly appointed managers to learn about management, leadership, and risk management. We also have a seminar system for engineers to improve their technical skills and knowledge.

When new graduates join CyberAgent, we conduct general training for about two to three days, followed by a week to a month of training for each job type. After being assigned, they learn the necessary knowledge with on-the-job training as the main focus.

We are also engaging in the training of possible candidates for future management positions. Those selected amongst the young members learn through special courses presented by the current executives.

Creating New Businesses

At CyberAgent, we believe that creating new businesses is also linked to developing human resources.

We hold special meetings where each executive officer teams up with employees and competes with ideas for new businesses and solutions that will lead to CyberAgent's future. Participating in the process from proposal to resolution, it serves as an opportunity for participants to develop a management perspective.

Since 2004, we have also been holding internal pitch events to solicit new business plans from all employees, including prospective employees. The CEO Susumu Fujita conducts the evaluation, and through feedback, the presenter and employees can learn from the CEO’s perspective.
The driving force behind the continuous expansion of our business is to give our employees, including those who recently joined, opportunities to take on challenges and encourage their career growth by appointing them as managers of businesses created through these events.
