“AbemaTV” to Be Compatible with Panasonic 4K TV “VIERA”
The remote controllers of models to be released in Jan. 2019 or later will have the “AbemaTV” button for enabling viewers to turn on “AbemaTV” with one push.
AbemaTV, Inc. announced that the remote controller of the 4K TV “VIERA”, which is to be released by Panasonic Corporation in January 2019 or later, will have the “AbemaTV” button for starting the app of the Internet TV station “AbemaTV,” which is operated by AbemaTV, Inc., with one push. By the end of 2018, it will become possible to view “AbemaTV” also with the 4K TV “VIERA” released in 2017 or later.
In response to viewers’ request for enabling them to watch “AbemaTV” on the big screen of a TV set, AbemaTV, Inc. is upgrading compatibility with devices. Then, viewers will become able to easily enjoy “AbemaTV” also with the 4K TV “VIERA” produced by Panasonic Corporation without a smartphone or the like. For models released in 2017 and 2018, it will become possible to watch “AbemaTV” by starting up the “AbemaTV” app from the application list of a TVwithin the year. With models to be released in January 2019 or later, it will be possible to start up the “AbemaTV” app just by pushing the “AbemaTV” button on a remote controller, and enjoy “AbemaTV” like conventional TV programs.
The user interface for watching “AbemaTV” with a TV set was fully renewed in September 2018, and its design has been changed for boosting operability and its functions have been improved by adding the function to check comments while watching AbemaTV with a TV set, so that viewers can enjoy TV in a manner unique to “AbemaTV.” “AbemaTV” will continue expanding features within and outside the service to provide a more accessible and convenient viewing experience. As an internet TV station, an entirely new style of video service, we are proactively developing the service by expanding content, incorporating new technology for additional features, forming partnerships and more.
